Based on the calculation, the cutback distance for a three-piece 2” 90° miter is 1/2”.

The length of each section is found using the following two formulas.

1. ​ Length A (end pieces) = turn radius x factor of cut angle

2. ​ Length B (middle pieces) = length of end piece x 2

QUICK TIP: The formula for finding the section length may be easier to remember if it is stated this way.

Length B is always double Length A.

Length A = Turn Radius x Cut Angle Factor .
